Intergenerational Work The Youth Forum steering group recently had a meeting with members of the Derby Seniors Forum. The aim of the meeting was to try and identify any areas of mutual ‘concern’ and a project that both groups could work on together. Listed below are some of the ideas that the group thought about and areas that were of mutual ‘concern’…
- Young and old need to work together to foster an appreciation of manual and practical skills rather than academic skills
- More respect between generations
- Stereotyping got to go
- Improved public transport especially in the evenings
- Joint age campaigning
- A Social centre
We are planning to hold a follow-up meeting later in the year where we hope to continue the work that has been started. Watch this space!
