Terms for Acceptance of Material/Links

This directory aims to provide information on local services for young people in Derby.

Some of the content covers services provided by Derby City Council and its partners as well as services that young people have notified us about. As the site develops, we will also consider requests from third parties to publish information on their services.

All third parties asking to publish details of their services on our A-Z Directory will be required to meet and accept the following terms.

1.       The organisation must be able to demonstrate that anyone in regular, direct contact with young people on a on-to-one basis has had an appropriate Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check (within the last 2 years).

2.      Language and images used on the page must not be discriminatory and/or have the potential to cause offence in relation to age, race, ethnic origin, religious or cultural beliefs, disability, gender or sexuality.

3.      All content must be accessible, young people friendly and text must be in plain english. For example, no jargon or technical phrases.

4.      No content will be permitted which is considered to be targeting young people for solely commercial gain.

5.      Advertising pop-ups or similar content will not be permitted.

6.      All organisations must provide up-to-date contact details, including local rate or national rate telephone contact numbers and/or addresses. No premium rate telephone contact numbers nor fee-registration web sites will be permitted nor any other contact method considered to be inappropriate.

7.      The organisation will agree to a vetting inspection and periodic spot checks from a representative of the web site in relation to these standards.

8.      The organisation agrees to maintain the content of the page in a timely manner and adhere to these standards and accepts that failure to comply may result in web site management operating its discretion to remove the page at any time, without warning.

9.       By submitting material for inclusion on this web site, the organisation agrees

a.       to accept full responsibility for the content and accuracy of that material, and

b.       to indemnify Derby City Council in the event of any claim or liability arising out of that material.

10.    The organisation accepts that Derby City Council reserves the right to refuse to accept any material submitted or to remove any material at its sole discretion.
