Bullying

STOP PRESS!!! Through the summer holidays Adele Styles is running a young person's antibullying focus group where you will get a chance to have your say on bullying and what we can do to make things better for young people who might have experienced bullying.

If you've experienced bullying and want to have your say please text or phone Adele Styles on 0796 700 8420 for more information.

It has been agreed between young people and headteachers in Derby City that there will be one shared Young People's Anti-Bullying Policy for use in all schools. Below is what has been agreed so far. The suggestions will go to make up a poster that will be displayed in all schools in Derby. Please use the discussion board to let us know what you think.

Definition of Bullying:
"Bullying is deliberately hurtful behaviour repeated often over a period of time or on isolated ocassions, where somebody deliberately intimidates or harasses another"

- Try to stay as calm as possible
- Tell a friend, teacher, parent or guardian

After You have been Bullied:

- Keep on speaking untill someone listens and does something to stop the bullying
- Make a note of who was involved
- Don't give your contact details to just anyone
- Remember - Don't blame yourself

If you are still NOT happy about your situation - make an appointment to see your Head of Year or Headteacher
